When mercy becomes a movement…

What happens when schools, non-profits, businesses,
and churches band together to help those in need?
In a word–mercy.
Help us make Mercy a movement!

This Month’s Plan

This month we will be collecting for The United Way Backpack Program. The United Way Backpack Program provides food for students in schools across Bismarck-Mandan who would otherwise go hungry over weekends. In Bismarck-Mandan alone there are 4,000 students on free and reduced lunches, the United Way learned that there was a gap for the poorest children in the community who would come to school dizzy and and distracted due to not having eaten over the weekend. The bags of foods are delivered to schools where counselors discreetly give them to needy students. Children are able to go home Friday afternoon confident they won’t be worrying about being hungry anymore.

Items needing to be donated:

      Capri Sun Variety Packs

      Apple Juice Individual Pack

Small Boxes of Cereal Variety Packs
Pop Tarts
Soup/Mac and Cheese
Chef Boyardee/Beef Ravioli
Cheese Crackers
Individual Fruit Cups

Why the United Way Backpack Program ?

The United Way Back Pack Program packed and delivered 14,634 backpacks full of food in 2016 to children. Because of the backpack program, 928 students will not go hungry on weekends.
